Tough New Challenge!!!

3 weeks ago I was given the mandate as the VP for my high-school alumni association
My school is currently a high performance school in the country and of course the expectation is high to turn the alumni association into a better one
The pressure is just massive as everybody is putting eyes on you
On your every moves, and every decisions
The association is now driven by the young blood
For a school with a tradition of close to 40 years, the earlier generations surely have high hopes that the Generation Y can think something out of the box for the benefit of the school and the alumni members
It is something new to me, especially with all the politics involve but I don't care
I will lend my ears to every single person, with one goal...
TO GO FORWARD!

PAYBACK TIME!

We'll Miss You Zeta

We found Zeta at SACC Mall Parking Area
It was 5th April 2011
We were about to go back home when Eela saw a kitten walking towards us
With Mama's consent, we brought her back
She was calm on Eela's lap in the car
Enjoying the lights and the ride perhaps

The other cats were furious when they know we brought back another kitty to the house
Bobby was hostile, but no harm was done
Everybody else was furious as well, shrieking like nobody's business
Zorro (still Lolita at that time) was hiding behind the sliding door panel

The 1st ever picture of Zeta, right after she arrived

Who would have thought that she was a heaven-sent for Zorro
Zorro at that time was so aggressive towards human
The arrival of Zeta changed him a lot
Towards a more loving cat
Zorro loves Zeta so much

On the ironing board - her favorite spot
Zeta was different
She loves rice, spaghetti and things like that
She didn't enjoy cat food that much
A very persistent cat
Will meow like crazy until we feed her with her favorite food
And she's a permanent diner on our dining table
Will always "company" us when we were having our meal

Zeta with Zorro - before Raya Qurban 2011
Mama loves Zeta so much
Not that she doesn't love other cats but she tends to follow what Zeta wanted
We used to say that Mama's nose moved like Zeta's
How hilarious!

Zeta also gave birth to 6 kitties whom all didn't last long
They were sick and Zeta was also not well shortly after she gave birth
The kitties died one by one

A few days ago Zeta was having a fever
We brought her to the vet and the doctor thought she's having viral fever
However the test was negative
A jab was given and she was due for follow-up today
The vet admitted her to the ward because she was so weak
Few hours after that Mama received a call that Zeta has passed
I was waiting for my turn to see my boss at that time
Luckily I have to wait long enough so that he didn't notice how sad I feel that time

Zorro lost a companion
And we lost a lovely cat
Zeta, we'll miss you!

Today...Some 13 Years Ago

25 January 1999. The date is still fresh in my mind. My 1st day in Sekolah Menengah Sains Selangor, Kuala Lumpur.

Who would ever thought a "manja" boy like me who seldom perform any house chores made a decision to enter a boarding school? I still remembered at that time, the decision was only temporary. "One year is enough!" I told myself.

Who would ever thought the decision I made that time means a lot to me right now? I learned a lot of things over 5  years in SMSS. I learned how precious friendship is. A friendship that I still treasure till today. Friends without any benefits. A sincere friendship. Over the span of 13 years, we grow up together. Shared laughter and shed tears.

Had a chat with Amin Dede just now and we discussed on how tremendously everybody has changed. To a better person of course. Over the span of 13 years, I can say that I am proud, in fact VERY proud to grow together with people like all of you. And I am VERY VERY proud to say that everyone of us is doing fine right now and some of us has turned into a very successful human being. The feeling is extremely indescribable. Too abstract, too discreet.

I have to admit how time flies without us knowing. 13 years sounds very long but the feeling was just like yesterday. Next year Insya'Allah will be another year of friendship, another year of knowing each other. Hopefully, the bonds strengthen over time. People come and go, but memories and friendships are something that we need to cherish.

The past is for us to treasure and the future is for us to measure.
